March Dinner Discussion: COPD-Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Rachel Sankoff, Pharm D candidate, will be discussing COPD at our next dinner discussion. It will be held on March 1, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the learning center of Jackson General Hospital. Ms. Sankoff will discuss causes, common medications used, tips to help you manage on a daily basis, and how to use different types of inhalers. If you use an inhaler, please bring it with you. While Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) has been the fourth leading cause of death in the United States since 1991, it was the third leading cause of death in West Virginia for eight of the nine years from 2000 through 2008.
